Our history

A little bit of background

Welcome to the evolution of Haven Knox-Johnston, with roots dating back to 1992. Born from the merger of “Haven” and “Knox-Johnston Insurance Brokers”, the brand flourished under Amlin’s ownership, later transitioning to MS Amlin Boat Insurance. In 2020, Aston Lark acquired the business, relaunching it as Haven Knox-Johnston. The subsequent acquisition of Aston Lark by Howden in 2022 paved the way for a strategic consolidation, uniting marine insurance entities, including A-Plan Marine, Euromarine Insurance, Howden Fastnet and more recently, Curtis Marine Insurance in Plymouth, adding another great string to our bow.

Our Specialist team dives into unique markets, tackling special risks like personal watercraft, Airbnb boats, and specific enquiries such as blue water cruising yachts. We’ve got you covered for higher-value superyachts and all the complex needs that come with them. Euromarine Insurance Services have been present in the boat insurance market for over 25 years. Starting off based in Broadstairs, Kent, with it’s exciting Viking history they have specialised in offering their boating customers a high level of customer service achieving 4.8/5 on their FEEFO reviews.
