What is an sPCR form?

Upon arrival into UK waters from outside the UK (including the Channel Islands), the skipper or owner of the vessel must notify Border Force and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). This is typically done using the Pleasure Craft Report Service (sPCR), an online portal designed to simplify reporting. If the sPCR online portal is not used, the completed C1331 form must be submitted via email or in paper form. The report must include details about the vessel, the people on board, the journey, and any goods being carried.

Similarly, when departing the UK aboard a pleasure craft, a report must be made if the destination is outside the UK (again including the Channel Islands). Advance notice should be given as early as possible before departure using the same channels. This allows authorities to perform any checks they deem necessary prior to the vessel leaving UK territory.

This registration process ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and border control regulations, and applies regardless of whether the voyage is for leisure, personal, or recreational purposes.

Failure to report as required can lead to fines, delays, or even the detention of the vessel. Therefore, ensuring full compliance with arrival and departure procedures is essential for all private mariners navigating international waters to and from the UK.
